What Tuition Pays For
Tuition will include the number of reserved lessons slots agreed upon between the student/parent and teacher for the entire year, or on a monthly basis (38 per school year). Additionally, it will include:
- A personalized course of study for the student
- Selection of repertoire, specifically for you
- Time spent developing teaching materials
- The teacher’s training and experience
- Tuning and repairs of piano
- Rental of facilities for performance and recitals
In addition to time spent with the student, tuition also covers the hours Melissa invests in preparation for the student’s lesson. It also reserves time in Melissa’s schedule for your lesson.

Payment Procedures & Policies
Tuition is due at the first lesson of each month. No exceptions will be made. This includes the yearly recital fee and applies to the entire academic school year, September through June. Adjusted summer tuition is scheduled for the months of July and August.

Tuition is non-refundable. No payment credit will be provided for missed lessons. A full payment is due each month, whether or not the student has attended.
Because your tuition reserves time slot for you in her schedule each week (rather than a certain number of lessons), it is paid-time in her schedule regardless of whether you attend your spot. Consequently, missed lessons cannot be deducted from your tuition.
Late tuition will incur a late fee. Please include a $25.00 late fee with your tuition if it is not delivered or mailed by the 10th of the month (or by the first lesson, if after the 10th of the month) from September through June).
Tuition may be adjusted annually.
